This 2U panel design is an adaptation of the layout posted by Will (and Bill) on ModularSynthPanels. Note that different size potentiometer bodies will require the design to be modified to provide 0.5" top mounting rail clearance.
These design are for Piher 16 mm carbon potentiometers. I have used these potentiometers on several modules and they work reasonably well. They are all plastic construction with cut-to-fit shafts and short bushings.

These next two designs using BI Technologies and Vishay potentiometers (e.g. small body). This allow closer spacing of the top gain controls to the edge of the panel. The left panel is a rectangular design with compressed vertical space above where a second row of jacks would be (similar spacing to my Varislope panel.) The right panel design emphasizes the diagonal aspect by moving the Mix and the mode switch to the bottom.
